Modus Operandi

This blog is intended to serve as a forum for comments and discussion on a variety of topics, including but not limited to: baseball; music, namely of indie, folk, rock and post- stratification; movies, namely movies of exceptional artistic, cultural or social merit; philosophy, namely broad discussion of language as both communicatory means and cultural artifact; alchemy, in particular the pursuit of altering devalued earth elements into the fetishized ore forms of a present consumerist state; archery, as both reclaimed tool and leisure-class indulgence; and the all-important detachment of signifier to signified.

Blogging, for example.

I once shot an apple with an arrow at a YMCA daycamp. Was it on someone's head, you ask? No. It was on a tee. But I've talked about two of the topics we're supposed to discuss here.

Best part: I did it with only one shoe on. Somehow I'd lost a single shoe during the week's one spend-the-night.

I'm glad to see you've made it. Long flight?

After more thought, I've decided Eraserhead was, in fact, very good. I've also decided the worms were definitely sperm, and my official hypothesis regarding the baby is that it was, in fact, a living, infant dinosaur, possibly recovered from 1) a Los Angeles area tar pit and successfully reanimated or 2) slowly thawed after being found at the bottom of a bag of dollar ice from the gas station.

A four-word review found on a site specializing in four-word reviews:

"Yucky baby spreads discontent."

A fair encapsulation.

I'm confused. Long flight? I was at a doughnut shop. A man was killed there.

Yeah, okay, it's good. I'm certainly discontented with the images that keep leaping into my head.

alright conversely, now i'm here (up in the blogosphere?) - now what? how do i decorate my pad? paper my walls? polish my silver?

and more importantly, why am i here? nay - why are we here?

or shall topics dicate themselves?

also - where's the shoutout to the nom-de-plume? and a bonus point for the subtle layering of both recent movie screenings and the embittered battle of attrition over blogging that could have only one guiding force - Eventualism?

I did get it, but I ignored it. I thought it was cooler if we let these thing go unsaid, Az.
